Signal for contracts

Contract Reminder Software

Auto-renewal clauses count on you forgetting. Signal remembers every end date and notice window, and emails the right people while there's still time to act.

The most expensive date in a contract is the one nobody wrote down

Evergreen clauses are designed around a simple bet: that ninety days before renewal, nobody on your side will be paying attention. Lose that bet and you're locked into another year of a vendor you meant to replace, at a price you meant to renegotiate. The notice window — often 30 to 90 days before the end date — passes silently, and by the time procurement notices, the leverage is gone.

Contract dates scatter across the business: some in legal's files, some in a departmental drive, some only in the signed PDF nobody has opened since signature. There's rarely one list, and never one that proactively tells someone. A contract management suite is overkill for most teams — what's actually missing is a reliable reminder tied to a date and a person.

Contract dates teams put in Signal

How Signal handles it

  • Reminder schedules. Stack 90, 60, and 30-day reminders on one contract, with a weekly repeat until the date if the decision keeps getting deferred.
  • Multiple recipients. Notify the budget owner, legal, and procurement together. Renewal decisions stall when only one person knows the clock is running.
  • One-click acknowledgement. When the owner clicks acknowledge, the item is marked handled — so you can tell at a glance which renewals are being dealt with and which are drifting.
  • Custom fields. Record contract value, counterparty, and notice period on the item, so the reminder email carries the facts needed to decide.

Frequently asked questions

Should I set the reminder on the end date or the notice deadline?

Both, ideally as two items or generous offsets. The notice deadline is the one that costs money — set your longest reminders against it, and keep the end date as the final backstop.

Can different contracts have different reminder schedules?

Yes. Every item carries its own set of reminder rules — a 12-month SaaS renewal might get 60/30/7, while a five-year lease gets 180/90/30.

How do renewals work when we extend a contract?

Use the renew action with the new end date. Signal keeps the full renewal history on the item and reschedules all pending reminders against the new date.
